ABOUT HERRON POINT

Herron Point is a basic, nature-based campground situated along the white sandy shoreline of the Harvey Estuary and offers visitors a relaxing and dog-friendly place to stay. Situated with the Shire of Murray, Herron Point Campground is just one-hour south of Perth and only a 15-minute drive to the town of Pinjarra.

Enjoy stunning sunsets overlooking the estuary and early morning wake up calls of the native birds. Launch your small boat on the public boat ramp, enjoy fishing, crabbing and relaxing walks along the estuary shoreline listening to the sounds of the Australian bush whilst soaking in the serenity of these fragile and important wetlands.

Campers are required to bring their own drinking water and be self-sufficient as the campground is not connected to mains water or electricity. While toilets are provided on site, there are no shower facilities provided. It is necessary to bring your own water for drinking, dishwashing and other sanitary needs.

Solar power provides lighting to the toilets overnight. It is also highly recommended to bring insect repellent for mosquitos.

THE ESSENTIALS

  • Campers must be self sufficient
  • All campsites are unpowered
  • No drinking water available
  • Flushing toilets available with water for handwashing only

  • The Campground site speed limit is 8km per hour.
  • Campers and any visitors are required to reduce any noise from 10:00pm onwards as a courtesy to other campers.
  • Campers are required to ensure that their vehicles, caravan, campers or tents remain within their allocated campsite area. No solar panels, guy ropes, awnings or any other items shall protrude outside of the allocated campsite area.
  • Due to the Campground being located along the eastern shoreline of the Harvey Estuary amongst wetlands, it is highly recommended that campers and visitors bring mosquito repellent and/or some type of mosquito protection.
  • A boat ramp facility for small vessels is available for visitors and the general public. Please ensure that your fishing and crabbing activities meet current restrictions.
  • Visitors’ vehicles are not permitted within the Campground and must only be parked outside the Campground
  • Consideration should always be given to safe access and egress of personnel and vehicles in the event of emergencies. If there is not enough room to safely accommodate a vehicle within the allocated campsite area (or allocated car parking bays) the vehicle must be parked outside the Campground.
