Day 1

Disconnect to reconnect. Sometimes we all need a little push to get back to basics and enjoy the simpler things in life, that’s exactly what the Family Adventure is designed to help you do. Leave the iPads at home, pack the kids and let’s go!

Your Family Adventure begins when you check into the Jarrah Forest Lodge, run by the Forest Heritage Centre Inc. is a volunteer, community based not-for-profit organisation specialising in areas of Arts, Culture and the Environment. The room spaces have access to modern bathrooms, community kitchen and dining area and recreation room. An outside gazebo has a seasonal woodfired pizza oven and fire pit for visitors.

Upgrade Option: If you’re craving the quintessential country winter escape in a log cabin, upgrade to a picturesque forest chalet at Noble River Estate. You’ll find your chalet set on 34-acres of peaceful bush land amongst the tall timbers of the majestic jarrah forest. Unpack, unwind while enjoying the serenity and fresh air on the veranda overlooking the nearby dam with resident kangaroos grazing on the lush grass.**

Day 2

After a good night's sleep and lazily awakening to the sounds of the birds and the gentle sounds of nature, stretch the body out and get ready to explore the secrets of Dwellingup. Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the iconic Blue Wren Café, located in the heart of the town.

The next few hours you will get to breathe in the fresh smell of fresh pine and jarrah trees as you swing, leap and wobble high above Nanga Mill Campground with a family pass at Treetops Adventure Dwellingup. Located inside Lane Poole Reserve, a 2.5-hour session through the aerial challenges (including gearing up) will have you laughing along with the kookaburras. Your adrenaline is our top priority, so our courses are designed to challenge you, no matter what level you’re at.

After an absolutely epic day, head into town, relax and let someone else do the cooking. With so much energy burned it’s hard to go past a stone-baked pizza or juicy burger, paired with an ice-cold pint from Longriders Café & Restaurant or the local ‘Dwelly Pub’

After dinner the next stage of your adventure begins, when the sun goes down, there are wonders out there to discover. Salt and Bush Eco Tours aims to inspire people to connect, and better understand the natural world. Join naturalist guides as you learn about the night sky, or go for a guided spotlighting walk to discover our unique nocturnal animals.

Day 3

In the early morning, fog hangs in the valley making for one of the most spectacular sunrises you will ever see. Take the time to appreciate the magic of stillness and calm as the golden light trickles through the towering forest trees and take an enjoy an early morning bush walk that will ignite your senses and invigorate your body. Breakfast time at Waypoints Café serves tasty, seasonal food and drinks to nourish the active and adventurous.

Post breakfast, visit the Dwellingup Forest Discovery Centre, a self-funded, community run not for profit organisation. The Centre is a vibrant regional hub that nurtures learning, the arts, natural environment and local heritage. If time permits, take a visit to the Caraholly Orchard, one of the many cellar doors and stock up on fresh fruit and veggies at Vergone’s Fruit Stall (a Dwellingup institution). The stall stocks a wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables alongside delicious homemade treats, soups and jams, and Pinjarra Bakery pies. Taking in the last of the scenery, you can feel your soul re-energising and your mind becoming clear, before it is time to take the leisurely drive back through the winding, country roads – towards home.
